Learn how to make your very own fun and creative origami bow tie for dressing up your outfit or getting your kids to work on their imagination. You can use Butterfly coloured paper or that extra wrapping paper you already have at home. Follow these steps to become an origami pro.
What you need:
- Butterfly colured paper
- Stanley knife or scissor
Getting Started
- Cut your paper into a square.
- Fold the sides in half.
- Fold the edges of either side towards the center.
- Insert your fingers towards the inside of the fold and flatten into the square shape.
- Fold the tip as depicted in the third image.
- Open up the piece of paper.
- Pinch the sides of the folds and collapse into the third image.
- Fold the sides of the diamond shape as guided.
- Repeat on the back.
- Open up the fold and press the center downwards.
- You should now be at the second image.
You’re almost there!
- Cut the four edges towards the center crease as illustrated in the images above.
- Lift up the cut sections and fold the other two sides halfway towards each other.
- Flip it over and now you should start seeing your bow tie take shape.
- Cut the pieces that you initally lifted up down the middle.
- Make sure you only cut until the crease.
- Flip it over and fold the sides to overlap each other.
- Cut the bottoms to create a nice ribbon style.
- Fold the points of the bow towards the center and tuck it into the fold.
- Well done! You have now completed your own origami bow tie.
