Do you love journaling or are crazy about arts and crafts? You will love this easy DIY tutorial. Our friends over at Art by Lurinda has created this easy guide to creating a beautiful pop-up lotus flower.
What you need:
- Butterfly Pastel Paper 4x different colours
- Scissors
- Glue
- Journal or Butterfly Pastel Board to paste pop-up flower on
Getting started
- Print template out on two different colour Butterfly Pastel Papers.
- Cut the petals out, each in a different colour, as shown in the picture.
- Fold each petal on the lines as indicated on the template.
- Fold the small petals in half and glue the lips on the diagonal lines.
- Cut the lines as indicated on the flat petal.
- Fold biggest petal into half.
- Take the two small petals and fit them into each other. Then slip the lips into the slits you’ve made.
- Put aside the flower and take the blue paper (background) and fold it in half. Cut it to shape and paste it into your journal or onto a card stock.
- Take the green paper and cut circles for the Lotus flower leaves.
- Take the biggest petal and paste it flat into the middle of the blue background.
- Then take the petals, that you’ve slipped into each other, and paste it centre aligned on top of the big petal.
- Paste each side separately, so the flower will have a pop-up effect.
- Do not add glue on the lips as this will prevent the flower from popping up.
- Colour in the leaf veins and paste in them where ever you would like them.
